Parzialmente costruito secondo il metodo Delta System, il canile ospita attualmente 450 cani. E' gestito dalla Signora Beslic Slavica e da suo marito che si avvalgono di 6 collaboratori da loro retribuiti. Il canile si presenta curato e pulito. RABIES IN SERBIAN 24-TH JANUARY, 2007


On this day, in Zitiste ( village in Vojvodina/Serbia), the fox elegy infected with rabies has elegy bitten a farm dog – Incident happened as authorities of Zitiste say, in the Farmers yard, in which the fox entered and after a while the fox has bitten the dog and the dog has caught rabies.
Director of Veterinary Department ordered (AGAIN) that hunters are to kill all the foxes, and gave order to the communal enterprise to release dogcatchers and hunters on streets and to kill all "stray" dogs.

Again NO one of the authorities had MENTIONED  anti-rabie vaccination for wild animals (by using a bait), urgent free of charge vaccination of all the animals in the area that should be in quarantine, livestock markets should be closed, transport of animals and animals products forbidden from contaminated to endangered area.
Except for killing, nobody pays attention to any other measure ordered by vet law in this occasion (the measures that had to be taken in the case of rabies outbreak are not put into effect, and no one supervised the whole thing, - AGAIN!!. )

Still, the people and animals in Serbia are in danger of rabies- if this REABIES ALERT IS FOR REAL!?
Animals are exposed to mass killing and the city officials' sets budget to- 6000-10000 dinars per corpse (1euro = 80 dinars)
Veterinary Department does not implement Veterinary Law and is only interested in money, even if that means piles of corpses of animals and the risk of people being affected by rabies-?

"..If there was a rabies outbreak, the Belgrade authorities are supposed to notify the Serbian authorities,  who are supposed to notify the World Health Organization,   and all of this is supposed to be done very quickly,
in order to give everyone at potential risk the maximum possible opportunity to try to keep the outbreak from spreading.
So far, as best I can tell, this has not been done.   If there are any recent advisories out about rabies existing in Serbia other than as a hypothetical threat based on past cases,  I cannot find them..." Merritt Clifton
