Dear sirs,
Psychological experiments on animals are the epitome of cruel, unnecessary, and irrelevant testing. Because animals do not exhibit most human psychological conditions, their brains are often damaged or they are given drugs to alter their psychological state in order to induce symptoms in an attempt to mimic human conditions. The data are not objective, reproducible, or interpretable because laboratory conditions and animal-handling skew the observations so heavily.
Psychological conditions in humans are unrelated to those that are unnaturally caused in animals – therefore, animal experiments are a particularly invalid model for studying human conditions or a human's response to pain.
Precious funds are being wasted on this facility that could be spent on human-applicable studies that help humans.
Modernization of psychological research is imperative and should be the focus of the School of Psychology and Behavior Studies.
