IN THOUSANDS TO MILAN IN DOME SQUARE
AGAINST THE VIVISECTION

Saturday the 6th of May we hosted the International manifestation against vivisection, in support of non animal research. The protest was held in Milan's Duca D’Aosta square (Central Station), Representatives of Several animal and antivivisection associations along with thousand of citizens, all joined in unity against animal research.

The march paraded through the center of Milan in order to demand that there must be antivivisection laws !

According to the news from some daily papers, approximately 5.000 people marched in unity, in the Dome square, in the heart of Milan.

OIPA, the hosts of the protest, with its antivivisection speakers, has provoked a strong emotion within the participants.

Massimo Comparotto, chairman OIPA Italy, made a short introduction on the campaign "Research without animals" in order to inform the citizens on the activities of the associations that finance the medical research and in particular on the destination of the donations that they receive. In the course of the last months the OIPA have collected tens of thousand of signatures for the petition "Research without Animals", in order to ask to the associations for the medical research to stop financing the studies on animals. At the end of May the signatures will be officially delivered to the proper authorities.
Other speakers on alternatives to animal research were, in order:

Dr. Riccardo Trepidi, doctor surgeon, President Scientific Medical Committee AVI
The presentations were followed by long and moving applauses.
Subsequently, the climax of the day, there was a performance of a small concert and cabaret show.
The rally was also covered by numerous journalists.

The approval of the resolution at the rally and the presence of thousands of people in Dome Square, was something not seen for many years ! It is the testimony of thousands of people which remains and gives an ulterior strength and unity to the antivivisection movement.
It was a determined voice saying NO to the non-scientific research carried out on the animals and a strong YES to the real scientific research without animals.
Because of in the 21st century not there is more place for the experiments on animals.
