One of the Ukrainian OIPA member leagues has asked us for help with their guests. This shelter is home to about 600 cats and 300 dogs. Many of their animals are unwell and have undergone surgery, so they must be fed specific food during their recovery phase.
LIFE Foundation in Cherkasy currently has 68 animals with chronic or acute conditions, nine of them need liquid medical food. Many others need suitable food, such as dry food intended for delicate nutrition.
When the association’s volunteers asked us for help, we immediately set about finding a way to meet the needs of their animals. After raising funds, we gave them four 14 kg bags of food each.
Since 2017, LIFE foundation has been helping street animals that are in trouble – they are homeless, need medical intervention or simple human warmth. They have at least one new street animal in need of help every day, and they find a new home for more than 20 animals under their care every month.
One of their volunteer told us: ” From the beginning of the war, all our development plans stopped. The number of injured animals immediately began to exceed our possible capacities many times. And here there is high inflation, people also donate very, very little, including – to the military, although their safety directly depends on this. We now have a debt to the clinic, because the military simply calls and asks to take the animal, and we cannot refuse them”.
