OIPA relies on the dedication of volunteers to carry out its work worldwide. From office support and educational activities in schools to field interventions and awareness campaigns, every area of our mission is strengthened by volunteer commitment.

Each OIPA delegation focuses on the specific needs of its local community. Priorities may vary from one country or region to another, but the goal remains the same: protecting animals and promoting respect for their rights.

Not Near an Active Delegation? You Are Still Needed.

You don’t have to live near an existing group to make a difference. By choosing to take action, you stand alongside those who work every day to defend animals from abuse and neglect. Even a few hours each month can have a meaningful impact.

Everyone can contribute according to their time, skills, and interests.

What You Can Do

Volunteers can contribute in different ways, depending on their skills, availability, and local needs.

Activities may include:
  • Information stands
  • Local events
  • Demonstrations and peaceful protests
  • Information tables at schools and universities
  • Controls and monitoring activities (where authorised)
  • Contacts with media and press
  • Publishing articles and educational content
  • Liaising with local NGOs and animal protection groups to strengthen joint actions and increase impact
  • Managing or supporting social media pages, blogs, or online awareness initiatives
  • Translation of materials and campaign content
  • Support during sterilisation programmes and rescue operations
  • Assistance to shelters and local animal care initiatives
  • Fundraising activities and community events
  • Collaboration with professionals (e.g. veterinarians, legal experts, educators)
  • Research and documentation for advocacy campaigns
Specific roles and responsibilities are defined together with each volunteer, based on individual capacities, time availability, and the priorities of the local delegation.
