KOREAN GOVERNMENT’S NEW ATTEMPT TO LEGALIZE DOG-MEAT: PETITION

Dear Sirs,

We, the undersigned, want the slaying of dogs and cats in South Korea stopped. Over 2million dogs and cats are killed each year for fraudulent health myths spread by the dog meat traders. If the Korean government is truly committed - as it claims - to reduce animal abuse, then it should stop immediately all measures designed to legitimize dog meat consumption. Instead, the Korean government should make sincere efforts to: Introduce a clear ban on the slaughtering dogs & cats for food or medicine Educate the public about the myths of fraudulent dog & cat meat products Educate the public about the benefits of eradicating the dog meat trade Strengthen and enforce animal protection laws
