In a small town called Rojava, autonomous region in northeastern Syria, lives Havin, a passionate activist whose mission is to help stray cats, dogs, and any other animal in need, many of which suffer from the dire circumstances caused by Syria’s ongoing devastation.

A month ago, Havin adopted a disabled cat that was left for dead, called Şila. Şila is a nine month female and she got sick 20 days after she was born.

Her former owner kept her in a cardboard box for 7 months, he never treated her and didn’t give enough food. Because of that, her illness got worse and her hind legs became paralyzed.

Now, Şila doesn’t move, and, when she does, crawls on the ground. Her wounds don’t heal and new wounds keep on appear.

Havin has reported that if Şila doesn’t move enough, her condition will gets worse. Although Şila has not fully recovered so far, her wounds have diminished and her appetite and morale are very good. To permanently improve his condition, Şila needs a wheelchair.
