A new request for help from Ukraine has been received.
“Life” Foundation in Cherkasy, OIPA’s member league, has asked for help for its many sick cats. These individuals are seriously ill and require specialized food. Those who are unable to feed themselves during the acute stage urgently need to purchase liquid medical nutrition.
who is “life”
Since 2017, LIFE foundation has been helping street animals that are in trouble – they are homeless, need medical intervention or simple human warmth. These volunteers feed them, treat them, warm them and find them a new home.
They have at least one new street animal in need of help every day, and they find a new home for more than 20 animals under their care every month. Currently, their shelter is home to about 600 cats and 300 dogs that require daily veterinary care and food.
To implement program for free sterilization of street animals, over the last 2 years, LIFE involved financial assistance international organizations and managed to sterilize more than 5,000 homeless animals living on the streets.
what “life” needs
LIFE currently has 68 animals with chronic or acute conditions, nine of them need liquid medical food. Two have recovered from their acute conditions and switched to regular food. However, two new patients were transferred from the front who need liquid food. Seven of them need Renal Liquid and two need Recovery Liquid.
The feeding rate is one bottle per day. One bottle costs 252 hryvnia (€5.10). Due to two animals recovering from acute conditions, LIFE has enough Renal liquid food for five more days. However, they have no Recovery Liquid left.
We hope that in the future they will need less of it, as some of the cats will have recovered from the disease exacerbation. For now, though, they have to eat.
