According to information and material collected by local and international animal activists, there are countless disturbing evidence (group chats, videos and photos) showing the existence of a gruesome cat abuse online network in China.
These groups use extremely brutal and cruel methods to torture and kill innocent cats recording and uploading or live streaming their vicious acts on websites, social media platforms or messaging apps, such as Telegram or Twitter. Insane users force animals to endure tremendous suffering, causing them unspeakable pain just for “fun” or to gain profit and views from their torturing and killing activity. In these groups, participants share photos and videos of their tortures, organize torture challenges and discuss about worsening killing methods.
Cats are boiled alive, put in microwaves and juicers, amputated, dissected, skinned and fed with acid substances, and posted online. This kind of behaviour is not only inhumane, immoral and violent, but also mentally harmful for viewers, which also includes adolescents and minors who have access to these online platforms.
Extensive research findings have confirmed the existence of a direct link between Cruelty to animals and violence toward humans. This link must be taken seriously and the law must protect animals and severely punish animal abusers.
We condemn these atrocities and we ask for your help to report the social media platforms that allow and profit from animal abuse and to urge China Government to outlaw animal cruelty.
