Many not for profit organizations have been working tirelessly for weeks to help families affected by the catastrophic flooding in Northern Italy, in particular in Bologna and Ravenna province.

OIPA volunteers and animal control officers in Ravenna are still assisting needy families with animals facing difficulties, after their properties, seriously damaged because of the flooding, have become inaccessible. As in the case of Patrizia, a woman who had to evacuate with her daughter and cats just after a few days she relocated with her family to her mum’s apartment. Volunteers are helping elderly people and families isolated in rural areas.

Recently, our volunteers provided food assistance to a sanctuary (Oasi di Desirèè), which is home to many rescued farmed animals saved from factory farms, and several cat colonies.

Many other families are in need. OIPA volunteers try their best to leave no one behind organizing new deliveries of food and useful material.
