This July, OIPA has helped its member league “United for Ukraine”, to purchase and deliver  4o water reservoirs  (4 big and 36 small – 10/20 litres) to animal volunteers and vets of Nikopol. The city has been without running water since the disaster on Kahovskaya Hydroelectric Station. This, together with the threat of nuclear pollution and drying out of the river, which flows through the town, makes the life in Nikopol for both humans and animals very dangerous. They all suffer from daily shelling, heat and lack of water.

While hundreds of people are leaving the area, veterinary doctor Mariy Dubinskay and the other volunteers remain in the city and continue caring for animals. Doctor Maria has stayed working in Nikopol since the shelling started last year, and she is still almost the only vet who operates stray and shelter animals as well as helps domestic patients in her clinic Dobra Laska.

The reservoirs they have received will help to deliver water to the town from queue outside, it will be stored at the clinic to perform operations and it will be distribute it among stray cats and dogs.

Water is life and only thanks to these reservoirs, animals have a chance to survive.
