Last week, our long-standing partner Happy Paw contacted us with a new request for help. They have asked our support for a joint mission with the objective to help improve the health of stray animals suffering from war in the region of Zaporizhzhia.

At the end of November, a team of veterinarians is planned to be sent to the front-line settlements of Zaporizhzhia region, in the cities of Orikhiv and Zaliznychne, to catch as many homeless and abandoned animals as possible that will be vaccinated and sterilized.

These settlements are located 7-10 kilometres from the battle line and were destroyed by explosions and shelling by 80%. Electricity, water, gas supply and heating are almost absent in Orikhiv, and food and drinking water are brought into the city from outside.

The mobile team of vets will stay there for several days and we are planning to spay/neuter and vaccinate at least 100 animals through this campaign.

Emergency for animals in Ukraine is not over but our financial resources after almost two years of war are running out.
